Scale Back Alabama: Wk 4

Ok, I seem to be trending at only 3lbs lost, grrrrrr! Hopefully, as a co-worker mentioned, I'm losing inches first rather than pounds. That works for me too, so we will see.

Antique Roadshow

One night my husband was watching one of those Antique Roadshow episodes. This prompted him to try another attempt to research our painting that was originally his grandparents. He was able to get someone to interrupt the signature on the painting. So, we now know that painting was done by an Italian artist by the name of Ercole Magrotti. There is not a whole lot of information on the web about him, but we do know he lived from 1890-1967. The painting is not worth huge dollars, but possibly about $800 due to the size. That is probably the most expensive painting that I/we will ever own!!!!

Yard Work

It was a beautiful Saturday, cause the sun was out!!!! I got to do a little yard work cleaning up the flower beds. Our Lenten Roses should be starting to bloom in the next month so I was trying to fix their beds. Also, got to let the dogs play outside with their toys for a little while. Now, I have very sleepy dogs!

Scale Back Alabama: Wk 3

Did not do good at all this week. I didn't even attempt to weigh either.

Tulips

This weekend I noticed that my tulips are starting to come up out of the ground! I can't wait to see what colors I end up with due to us planting a bag that contained an assortment of colors.

Recycling

Today we dropped off some of our recyclables, aluminum and plastics, for the first time at a center located downtown. I feel like I have done something good! It seems like every time I empty a plastic bottle, I'm checking to see if its a 1 or 2 plastic. Looking forward to expanding on my knowledge about recycling and doing my part to communicate to others to get them on board too.

Happy Valentine's Day!!!

It was nice having Valentine's Day on a Sunday, cause I got to spend the whole day with my husband! No big plans for us this year. But we did grill filet mignon and asparagus to have with a baked potato and delicious red wine. My hubby does nice work in the kitchen!
