Pontiac

Today GM announced that it would be eliminating the Pontiac line as a part of their restructuring. I am soooooooooooo disappointed. In 2007, my beautiful metallic blue 2002 firebird with t-tops was totaled when a dodge ram truck ran a red light. We never bought me another car for my heart was set on owning another firebird or upgrading to a trans am. I searched the used car listing, but never really saw the blue one. I had hoped that with the camaro returning this year that maybe pontiac would start production of their muscle car in the near future. Clearly that will not be the case.

Volunteer Work

Saturday, I headed out to do some volunteer work. Man was it hot!!!! For the first class we went on a long trail ride. I felt so out of shape by the end of that session, but it was fun. For the second and third class I wasn't needed to help with any of the riders, so I was put to work smoothing out the arena and cleaning stalls. Hard work!!!

Magic City Art

This weekend is the Magic City Art Connection at Linn Park. Today two of my co-workers and I walked down to the park to check all the cool displays. There were so many interesting displays of art. I wish I could be so talented. I saw two very neat and totally different pieces of butterfly art. One was the metal cut out of several butterflies that appeared to be flying. The other was a more modern style of a single row of butterflies in black, white and blue pinned like a science project against a white background in a simple black frame. If I only had tons of money to spend on artwork!!!! I ended up purchasing a pair of earring for $20 that were made from old typewriter keys from a vendor all the way from Indiana. They are too cute and I guess I could say vintage!

Earth Day

There was a parade downtown for Earth Day. My co-worker and I stepped outside to see the kids from local schools participating in the parade. Too cute!

Twitter

Ok, so now I am on twitter!!! I have kinda been wanting to get started for a while now, but thought I would wait until August when I can get a blackberry. I knew my husband already had one. On my way home from work today, I heard Ryan Seacrest on the radio talking about Hugh Jackman offering to donate 100K to a non-profit charity but you had to twitter him. I came home and made myself set an account up today!!! Of course I sent Hugh a message. I hope I did it correctly so I can put Special Equestrians of Bham in the running for the donation. This is the charity that I recently started doing volunteer work for on Saturdays.

P.S. I can't wait until May 1st for the Wolverine movie!!!!!

Bathroom Project - Tile Preview

Today we went to another store for different tile selection. We actually saw some pieces that we both liked and now have a design plan for the shower. At this time, we have come to a compromise for some pretty glass tile to be used as accent pieces - YEAH. Thus, we have now come back home with some sample pieces for us to ponder over the weekend.

Home Improvement Project

We are finally looking into fixing our shower! Trying to determine the type of tile and pattern design for the shower seems to be the hardest part.

Fun

I dug out my roller blades to see if I could skate around our driveway. It was a little bit more difficult to skate there, so my car was moved out from the garage and I have been skating around the basement.

Storms

The weather was awful last night. It seemed like our house was shaking. We lost power around 2:30 am and didn't regain it until sometime after 8:00 am. By, the time I got ready to head out for work it was a little before 10:00 am and the traffic on 280 was still backed up. Must of been one of the areas with the traffic lights out that the news kept mentioning but never gave any specifics. So I had to make my way to 65 to get to work. A little after 10:30 am I was at my desk ready to get started on my surveys!

Adventureland

I almost forgot to blog about my latest movie viewing. Last Sunday we went to see Adventureland. This move had my husband and I cracking up! And I loved the 80's music played throughtout the movie.

There are several great movies being released this summer. I can wait until May!!!!

Happy Easter

Happy Easter!!!

Not much going on with us this weekend. I was not feeling a 100% and this is the last week of this class for Michael, which means he has a ton of work.

Visit from Leisa

I got to spend Tuesday with my mother-in-law, Leisa. She rode down with her sister who had some work to do in the area. This was her first time to see our house so I got to give her a tour. Then we headed over to have lunch with Michael. After lunch we hit some of the shops and when Michael got off of work we went to an Antique store in the area. After our shopping, we met back up with Leisa's sister for dinner. It was great to spend the day with Leisa and hopefully we will get to do it again sometime soon!

Randon Vacation Day

Today was one of my random vacation days. Slept in just a little, but the dogs knew something was up and were in the living room whining with excitement. Armed with a coupon, I headed out to Kohl's by mid morning. Saw a few things, but nothing that just wowed me. Of course, I had to use my coupon so I picked up a $6 graphic tee. Then I went to Ross. I usually don't have any luck here, but today I found two cute suits for work. Next stop required me to head over to Hoover for lunch with my hubby. Now that I am back home and the sun is out I am going to take Auburn and Jasmine out to play!

Elisabeth

Sunday morning we got to talk with Elisabeth over the internet for about an hour. I can't wait for her to get back so we can hear all about to adventures in Spain in person!
